8 In-Flight Holiday Travel Essentials with CVS +GIVEAWAY!

an-dyer-holiday-travel-packing-tips-cvs It’s already mid-December and like most holiday travelers this time of year, our trip is quickly approaching and the idea of packing is already daunting. That’s why I love CVS because they’re the best one-stop destination for all my travel beauty needs! I’ve teamed up with CVS to share some helpful in-flight travel tips, plus, we’re giving away $50 gift cards to make holiday traveling even easier for TWO lucky readers! Details at the end of this post 😉 I’ve been guilty of leaving packing to the very last minute but it only takes missing your must-haves on a trip or two to motivate you to be more proactive about it! I’ve become pretty darn awesome at packing over the years but I’ve also become more aware of how personal packing can be. We each have different priorities and every destination can have different needs. The one consistent factor that I’ve found? The in-flight necessities. Chris and I are heading to Paris right after Christmas and these are 8 essential items I found at my local CVS that I’ll be reaching for when the pilot turns the seat-belt lights off:

1. An ultra rich hand creme
Since the air in plane cabins can be extremely dry, often literally drier than the Sahara desert at >20% humidity, it’s important to pack hydrating products with you like moisturizers. Dry cuticles on a flight almost always results in the worst hangnails! I’ll check the larger body cream in my luggage but I always bring my travel friendly sized Skinfix Ultra Rich Hand Cream in my carry-on.

2. Cleansing cloths or makeup removing wipes
Gentle facial wipes like e.l.f.’s Makeup Remover Cloths are some of my favorites to have on hand because they’re incredibly versatile! You can use them to clean up after a snack, freshen up those eyes after a nap, wipe down your tray table or to take off the makeup you’ve had on all day.
3. Brightening eye cream.
The areas on your face that can show signs of dehydration (and aging) the quickest are your eyes so make sure to have a moisturizing eye cream with you! I love bringing a brightening product to revive the eye area like Lumene’s Bright Now Eye Treatment. Luckily, eye products are typically small so chances are the one you already use will easily be within the TSA size restrictions.

4. Blush & Bronzer        5. Mascara        6. Concealer        7. Lip Moisturizer
Once you remove your makeup, you have to put it back on, right? J/k 😉 All joking aside, depending on your destination, you may want to look presentable or just bring a little life back to your face, at the end of a long, exhausting flight. I pack most of my makeup away, but I’ll always have some face color like e.l.f.’s St. Lucia Blush & Bronzer handy to liven up my complexion. I love how wearable this particular combination is! The bronzer can also easily double as an eyeshadow to add a wash of color on your eyelids. Concealer is a must-have for obvious reasons and the Instant Age Rewind Concealer by Maybelline is a cult favorite! The built in sponge makes mid-travel applications a breeze. Swipe on a couple coats of Maybelline’s Colossal Mascara to really brighten up those eyes! Don’t forget to moisturize your lips – I’ve been really enjoying ChapStick’s Total Hydration Lip Balm. They have tinted balms that are perfect to add a touch of color, too!

8. Hair Oil
Do you ever notice how dry your hair can get on the plane? I become hyper aware of my split ends because they like to all stand up and wave at me mid-flight :p Leave the dry shampoo in your checked luggage and bring your OGX Weightless Hydration Coconut Water Hydration Oil with you! This will not only save your hair, but your luggage – whenever I pack any oil product in my checked luggage, it always manages to leak everywhere (even if I tape it shut and double bag it!) so I opt for bringing oil products like this with me in my carry-on. That way, it has a better chance staying upright – and I can use it on my hair!
