The NYE outfit that never happened – well, it happened, just the following day, instead 🙂 . Chris and I decided to cancel our dinner reservations and stay in for New Years Eve. We cooked dinner and popped open a bottle of sparkling wine and rang in the new year in our comfy pajamas next to our cozy fireplace. It was perfect; just us two.

My parents always told me you should spend the first day of the new year how you want to spend the rest of the year so, I couldn’t let this outfit go to waste 😉 . I wore it out to dinner New Year’s Day instead! I love the shimmery gold fabric on this Last Night dress – it’s not offensively sparkly, but shimmery enough to make a statement. I would have twirled around in it alone but it’s still chilly here in LA so the jacket was necessary, but it worked! Plus it pulled in my new Sole Society pumps – I’m always a sucker for toe embellishments and this metal plate on the toe really takes the cake!

A Look Back at 2012 Favorites

It’s crazy looking back at my posts from earlier in the year; this was our first entire year shooting with a dSLR (my husband, Chris, bought it for me last Christmas!) I love looking at how much has changed and how much hasn’t. Chris’ photography and my style has evolved so much this year and it’s even more amazing to look back at the huge steps we’ve made & the big moments of the year – including collaborating with so many amazing brands, meeting Andre Leon Talley, going to MAGIC as an Official Digital Influencer, being featured on TeenVogue, Audrey Magazine, Seventeen, and ASOS among others & my very first NYFW! (Update: how could I forget, collaborating with Google to create the LA Fashion Bloggers page on Google+!) I’m excited to see what’s in store for us in 2013!

Thank you all so much for making my 2012 an incredible one! I truly appreciate each and every one of you for joining me on this fashion blogging journey and for your continued support 🙂 I hope you enjoyed all 167 blog posts I published this year, especially these favorites! Here’s to another amazing year… Cheers to 2013!

I’m wearing the opposite side of these jeans that I promised I’d share – so gorgeous and cool, right? Ah, I love Bleulab Jean’s versatility! They go perfectly with my oxblood Essas boots (which are on sale for 50% off until tomorrow!) … paired naturally with my oxblood cross bracelet from Shoplately & new blazer that I won from Lulus at Two Point Oh! The love I have for this outfit is insane and (almost) un-explainable. Every element is so comfortable and includes some of my most coveted pieces from my closet. These jeans have the perfect amount of stretch without losing the denim look & feel, making them so easy to wear and move around in. Best of all? They’re reversible 🙂 the other side is a gorgeous grey denim. Outfit post wearing the grey side coming soon! Ever since my first pair of Bleulab jeans, they’re quickly becoming my favorite denim brand. Love the fit and being reversible, they’re so ridiculously versatile, they’ll be my go-to for traveling and pretty much every day life. Beyond genius! I’d also been searching for a leather draped cardigan (and was swooning over the Zara version that, of course, sold out before I could process my order) so Michael Stars carrying this ideal beauty was serendipitous. It’s the perfect light weight leather piece for our LA weather and so easy to wear with anything (just like this Michael Stars tee; so simple, so classic, so perfect).

Paired with my beloved Jemma boots, my bold Tom Ford sunnies, gold accessories like this badass lion necklace & Wang inspired studded bag – I mean, what is there not to love? Plus Chris shot these pictures of me in the same place one of my favorite movies, Think Like a Man, was filmed. Now if only we could have John Legend “Tonight” playing in the background… 😉
