Sue Wong – The Cedars

The week before last, I was invited to a special private dinner party at Sue Wong’s beautiful estate – The Cedars. It was absolutely breath taking – opulence would be an understatement. Gilded from floor to ceiling, every single room was absolutely epic! Built in 1926 for MGM director Maurice Tourneur, previous residents include Marilyn Monroe, Johnny Dep and Jimi Hendrix (we got to tour the home and even saw Jimi Hendrix’ room where he was inspired and wrote Purple Haze). When Sue acquired the mansion in 2004, she restored it reflecting its Old Hollywood Glam history. The event was truly such a treat!! I can’t even begin to imagine living in such a place – seriously mind blowing!

Happy Sunday funday! Hope you guys are all enjoying the weekend 🙂 I can’t believe Thanksgiving is this week! Time is flying by! After rockin’ bare nails the past couple weeks (mostly because I’ve been too busy to give myself a mani let along go get one done), I decided to take the plunge and try out these nifty nail wraps I’ve been seeing all over the place. I was intimidated at first but after the first couple nails, I felt like a pro – so much easier than I expected! Plus, they were surprisingly fast to apply – just as promised.

Last weekend, I had the fun opportunity to participate in a holiday video shoot for ShopPublik (an online boutique previously mentioned here). The videos aren’t out yet but I wanted to share some of the behind the scenes and professional shots. This was a more casual look, the others I wore were party looks which I’ll share later on 🙂 but I really loved this Cozy Sweater, so much so that I took the Oxblood version home with me 🙂 … and now that I look at these shots, I should have grabbed these awesome pants, too! I have a huge complex about my legs which I know I’ve blogged about before, so printed pants always make me nervous lol but these were comfy and so cute on. I love the texture and contrast of the print! Note to self, must buy!

I think I can officially say that Line & Dot makes my favorite maxi skirts! Case in point, this amazing pleated maxi & the gorgeous skirt I wore to NYFW. The color combinations & prints are so beautiful! Plus, I’ve just been living in oxblood everything lately 🙂 so the burgundy/oxblood/maroon/wine (whatever you want to call it) details in this maxi are ideal for Fall.

I’ve received so many (really sweet!) compliments on here and instagram about my hair (thanks so much!). It’s super long now, so long that even when I curl it, it still LOOKS long! When I air dry it, it literally goes all the way down to my derrier and although I love the look of long locks, that’s just a bit too much for me. I’ve been looking for a hair salon to go to for a trim or cut but haven’t found the one yet. A close friend of mine recommended Rush Tunbridge Wells but unfortunately, making my way to the South Bay is too far let alone the UK! Although, I would LOVE to visit Europe soon, and if I had the chance, would definitely get my hair done there, I don’t think my locks can wait for that to happen – my split ends are going out of control. Such a bummer, though lucky for you UK readers out there 🙂 … if anyone is familiar with LA salons (preferably close to the Valley or at least mid city), let me know! My hair desperately needs some TLC. In the meantime, I’ll be daydreaming about traveling to the UK for some R&R and salon services, hehehee 😀 .
