The other week, I finally made an appointment to get my hair cut; it’s been over a year! It was also my first time visiting Gavert Atelier Salon and having my hair cut by celebrity stylist, Mika Fowler. Mika is famous for her dry cut – “described as cutting the hair after it is blow dried as opposed to when it is wet which assists in maintaining both the hair’s health and style. She likes that is a free flowing style that is not weighted down. She believes that you can best see the hairs natural body when it is dry which makes it easier to cut. Dry hair with natural body, makes it easier to cut a line that compliments the face. As free-spirited as she is, her dedication to precision is what makes this particular cut her signature craft. Celebrity Clients include Annalynne McCord, Malin Akerman, Rosario Dawson, Karina Smirnoff, Cameron Monaghan, Ali Fedotowsky, Emanuelle Chriqui and many more.” via Mika’s website.
I cannot tell you enough how much I love my hair. The style’s not a crazy dramatic change from how I had it before but it’s all in the details. Mika managed to get all my (horrendous) split ends and yet I still have my length and with perfect face framing layers! My hair has so much more bounce now and I love that my layers look good regardless if my hair is straight or curled. Mika was such a delight to work with; so sweet, talented, accommodating and detailed. Of course, having your hair done in the heart of Beverly Hills by a celebrity stylist, enjoying a great massaging shampoo beforehand while indulging on refreshments (champagne, anyone?) is always such a treat!
Special thanks to Mika Fowler, Gavert Atelier Salon & Pivotal PR!
By the way, I haven’t dyed or chemically treated my hair in 7 years so what you see is all natural virgin hair. 🙂
Who’s your favorite salon or go-to stylist?
Happy Friday! Have a great day everyone!
