Visiting Tacori

Chris and An Dyer visiting Tacori’s Design Center

Chris and I had always talked about upgrading rings for an upcoming anniversary, but I figured it would be for a later milestone, until Chris suggested we upgrade this year, for our 14th wedding anniversary coming up this October! With everything that’s been going on, he said, “Life’s short, we’ve waited long enough, why wait longer if we can do it now?” 🥹 and obviously, who am I to decline a ring upgrade?! My only request was that we try to keep my same original Tacori setting that he originally proposed with, in 2008.

Tacori’s Classic Crescent platinum solitaire engagement setting, with the full eternity band, was my absolute dream ring. I would flip through the pages of Vogue magazine with my friends, swooning over Tacori’s gorgeous advertisement spreads, picturing them on our fingers, and it still makes my heart flutter to this day, every time I gaze down at it! It’s still just as beautiful, too, and it’s so well made that there’s not a single melee accent diamond missing on it, 16 years later! At the time, Chris purchased my ring from one of Tacori’s platinum retailers, Unicorn Jewelers in our hometown of San Diego, but after getting married, starting this blog, moving to LA, and evolving with the world of fashion blogs, I had the amazing opportunity of meeting the Tacorian family and Tacori team members, with Sheryl at a press dinner with Harper’s BAZAAR and Wendy’s Lookbook, in 2013. Chris and I also had a chance to tour their headquarters then, too!

So, when the topic of upgrading rings came up, I reached out to Tacori directly and we arranged for a visit to discuss what our options were, as well as see their latest gorgeous jewelry collections, try on the dreamiest rings, and get an updated private tour of their Design Center where each and every one of their beautiful intricate pieces of jewelry are made!

Naturally, I had to dress the part, and wore the most Tacori blue dress I could find in my closet. I styled it with white shoes and a white belt for a bridal nod. 😍 Doesn’t my dress match Tacori’s shade of blue perfectly?

There’s something so special about falling in love with a brand like Tacori organically, decades ago, and then getting the opportunity to not only meet them, but later work directly with them on an incredibly meaningful project like this! 🥰

It’s been almost three weeks now, the longest I’ve ever gone without my ring! Actually, I don’t know if I’ve ever gone a full day without it in the last 16 years, and wow did I greatly underestimated how much I’d miss it. 😅 I keep finding myself looking for it and having a brief moment of panic before I remember that it’s safe, being upgraded. Then, of course I get excited again! I know it’s going to be so worth the wait.

In the meantime, here’s a sneak peek of the CAD rendering Tacori sent me! 🤩

(The prongs look large in this CAD because it’s a production file, before they are filed down and polished.)

Can’t wait to see how my upgraded ring turns out, and of course, share it with you guys! Stay tuned!!

Very special thanks to Tacori for a wonderful tour, and working with us on this exciting ring refresh project! 🤗
