I never mentioned what my husband got me for Christmas because.. he hadn’t gotten me anything yet 🙂 you see, during the holidays we were in the midst of planning our trip to Europe when he asked me what I wanted for Christmas and I mentioned maybe we should wait for Paris since we’re already planning this costly trip. The vacation was really, already, our Christmas gift to each other. He obliged and I patiently waited.
Well, I’m not gonna lie, I spent hours, days, weeks scheming planning out which bags to buy – I knew I wanted to come back with at least two (the bag Chris would buy me and something I would buy for myself). I fell head over heels for the Hermes Herbag silhouette but the style itself is quite illusive. For those who have yet to venture into Hermes (especially in Paris) in dreams of finding the bag you desire, in a nutshell, it’s chaotic and incredibly stressful. You often have to deal with ridiculous lines, potentially snobby service, and you will almost always have to visit multiple stores, multiple times in a single day. Chances that they have the bag you want in any color is already incredibly slim, let alone, the color you desire. No, they will not check other stores for you and no, they don’t know what they’re going to get or when they will get it… And yes, you’re spending a small fortune for all of this turmoil. It’s very frustrating similar to shopping for Chanel… it takes a certain level of endurance but gosh, is it worth it!
Well, as you might have seen on instagram, my Superman bought me my it bag in the color I wanted from my dream brand while we were in Paris! The ordeal itself was quite serendipitous. He has a knack for these kinds of things 😉 and yes, I’m one incredibly lucky girl!!

February 27, 2015 at 10:14 amLovely purse! ? I’m traveling to Europe this month too. I just have a question re: tax for the purse when you enter US again. How much % do they charge? TIA ?
September 16, 2015 at 6:06 amHi there! For me, US Custom’s charged about 3% on our way back. Hope that helps! Have a great trip & happy shopping!
September 16, 2015 at 9:34 am[…] So excited to share an outfit post with my dream bag, this gorgeous Hermes Kelly 25 sellier in gold epsom that I got for my birthday a few months back! While I’ve always dreamt of having an Hermes Kelly or Birkin, the classic ‘gold’ color Kelly has been at the top of my wish list ever since we took this iconic photo below, in front of the giant Kelly bag in gold retourne at Hermès Rue Faubourg Saint Honoré, during our very first trip to Paris in 2015! (Also where I got my first ever Hermes bag!) […]
