5 Chic Gifts Mom Will Love

With my Mom’s birthday in early May, just before Mother’s Day, I always have so much fun shopping for gifts for her. It’s like shopping for me but better because I get to make her day! My favorite ideas for gifts are things I personally love myself, so I’m sharing 5 chic gifts Mom will love!

Frette recently launched Frette Bespoke and now offers personalization and monogram options online. I got my Mom one of these gorgeous monogramed robe – rest assured, hers has her initials on it lol! I didn’t want to ruin the packaging so I’ve featured mine in the shot above 😉 . If you’re not already familiar with Frette, they are famous for linens and home furnishings and by far one of the most prestigious brands in the world. Established in 1860, over five hundred royal families have slept beneath their sheets! If they are fit for royalty, they’re certainly fit for my Queen!

My Mom was actually the one to introduce me to Bite Beauty a few years ago and I’ve been a fan ever since! Their Multisticks are so versatile; you can wear them on your lips, cheeks or eyes. This pretty Love Bite Lip Set is packaged in a blush pink tin with a beautiful floral print mirror that pairs perfectly with the two Multisticks and Prismatic Lip Gloss included. Like myself, my Mom has a weakness for cute packaging so I already know the pink tin case will be so useful when she holds onto it!

If your Mother is more of the functional gift type, Conair‘s newest Turbo ExtremeSteam steamer would make her day! This awesome handheld steamer delivers more steam and is 50% hotter than their previous model. It only takes 40 seconds to heat up and can deliver up to 15 minutes of continuous steam, which is incredible! The pretty quilted aluminum plate acts like an iron and it has a built-in creaser for pleats & folds.

Coconut milk and oil products have always been a favorite for my Mom. She’s used it for as long as I can remember so I’m super excited to introduce her to Kopari, a San Diego based company that only uses 100% pure, organic coconut oil sourced from the Philippines. This Coconut Multitasking Kit is the perfect introduction; it includes a sampling of all their cult favorites!

Since my Mom spent so much of my childhood coercing me to eat more fruits and veggies, it’s only right for me to put her on to juice cleanses! I’ve been addicted to my Juicero machine and can’t wait to show her some of my favorites like Pure Pomegranate, Beta Glow and Glojito. This device definitely isn’t for the faint at heart as it can be considered more of a luxury indulgence but what better gift for Mom than not having to prep or clean up after she makes a fresh pressed juice?

What are you getting your Mom for Mother’s Day?

    WE’VE MOVED! + 4 Helpful Moving Tips

Mannie and team from NorthStar Moving Corporation!

Chris and I spent the past week moving and boy, were we in over our heads! Who knew 2 people could accumulate so much STUFF?! I suppose being a materialistic, shopaholic blogger doesn’t help 😉 luckily, just before we decided to move, we watched Minimalism, the documentary on Netflix and I was hopelessly inspired, determined to use this time to declutter. To make our plans a reality, we definitely needed professional muscle and hired the awesome team at NorthStar Moving Corporation to help us with it! With literally thousands of positive reviews, I knew we were in good hands. Since I wanted to document our move, I reached out to them to collaborate and share 4 new tips I learned from this move!

    1. If you’re reading my blog, chances are you like pretty things as much as I do 😉 so, START EARLY! We started packing 1 month early and really, it should have been 2. Having the extra time gave me the opportunity to inventory and edit out what I didn’t need, as well as find happier homes for them!
    2. Summer is the busiest season so if you can, try to move during the low season. Obviously, this can be tricky depending on why you’re moving and when your lease is up, or when you find the right home and/or buyer for your home, however moving between October-April can get you the best deals on everything from moving companies like NorthStar, to special move-in incentives, or better leverage for negotiating! It might even be beneficial to take time off work to move because scheduling a mid-month, mid-week move can also save you money!
    3. Pretend you’re packing for a trip and set aside toiletries you use for every day life in a seperate area or travel bag. This will help ensure you don’t pack away things you may need, and will also make sure you have things to use while you’re going through the process of unpacking and not having easy access to those particular boxes.
    4. Ask about recycled boxes! NorthStar Moving Corporation offered discounts on recycled boxes, as well as incentives if I returned the boxes afterwards for them to continue to reuse. This not only saves cold hard cash, but also helps the environment!

Chris and I are so excited to partner with Born Shoes! Famous for their comfort and quality, I knew Chris would especially love them. It can be tricky for us to find the right shoes for him since he’s flat footed, which can also make us hesitant to shop for his shoes online. We had nothing to worry about though, because these Born Shoes fit perfectly and absolutely lived up to their reputation of shoe bliss! Chris chose the Allan, full-grained leather slip on driving shoes, while I went for the Tamara sneakers in tan; both available at Dillard’s. They fit true to size and were ultra-comfortable, making them perfect for our recent local getaway. We knew we’d do plenty of walking while sneaking away to play tourist in Beverly Hills, and these Born shoes did not disappoint! Born Shoe’s hand sewn construction, premium quality leathers and fine detailing kept our feet super happy while still looking California cool. I particularly appreciate that glue is not what keeps the bottoms of these shoes together, unlike most other brands. Their hand sewn construction technique, a process they borrowed from old world shoe making which includes carefully placed stitches throughout (yes, including the soles!) is unique to Born and allows the shoe to bend and move with the foot for a natural feel. Both of our shoes are also lined in leather or suede which made our feet feel like they were walking on clouds – so buttery soft! This makes for shoes that are far more flexible, and last way longer than shoes that have been glued together. I loved mine so much, I wore them all weekend moving, too! They are so easy to wear and allow us to make the most of our day, something we really value with our busy schedules!
