Happy Monday, everyone! I’m so excited to share what’s new in beauty technology – this is a series I plan to publish regularly, so let me know if there are any interesting new beauty products out there that you’d like me to test and share in upcoming stores. I’ve included some amazing innovative products below that I’ve tried recently as well as some longtime, under-appreciated, ingenius favorites:
The Multistick by BITE Beauty This cream stick is silicone-free and formulated with sugarcane derived squalene to create a weightless high performance coverage that can be used on the eyes, lips and face. Don’t just think of eyeshadow, lipstick and blush, but also color correcting and contouring! Being 35% powder, the cream wears like a powder with a soft focus finish, blending in nicely with other face products. I was amazed at how pretty it looks on the lips, giving the perfect matte look, while also setting to a natural finish on the cheeks and eyes!
Color Switch Solo & Duo by Vera Mona No time to clean your brushes? This inventive product enables you to switch between eyeshadows (or even face powders) while using the same brush! Simply swirl your brush onto the sponge and it will remove any remaining powder so that you don’t have to worry about color transfer. You can see where I just swirled my brush in that top left tin! The Duo version has a separate white sponge, as pictured. This white sponge can be immersed in water (or MAC Fix+) and left moistened so that you can intensify powders or apply wet shadows, as well! I use mine regularly, especially when I’m traveling and can’t bring along too many brushes. Cleaning is incredibly easy, too – all you do is give it a quick soapy wash, rinse, firm squeeze and allow to dry (overnight or just wait an hour or so)!
Luma Brush This revolutionary tool is the worlds first ceramic hair straightening brush! Dramatically reducing styling time, this product combines heated ceramic technology with the shape of a hair brush. Made of high quality, premium materials, the Luma Brush warms up to a constant 185°C/365°F. It’s been my go-to for those days when I’m running behind and need a quick fix – I just turn it on (it takes 60 seconds to heat up), run it through sections of my hair to smooth any kinks out, which takes just 2-3 minutes, and I’m ready to head out the door!
TL Advanced Tightening Neck Creams & Serum by StriVectin Got Tech Neck? The skin around your neck and décolletage area is much more delicate than your face so it tends to be one of the earlier areas to show signs of aging. The same way raising our brows too often can cause lines on your foreheads, our undeniable habit of repeatedly looking down towards our phone can do a number on our neck area! The last thing any of us want is to accelerate the signs of “turkey neck”, amiright? StriVectin’s targeted tightening neck collection is specially formulated to visibly tighten, lift and firm, fighting Tech Neck by smoothing the appearance of lines and wrinkles while also hydrating and moisturizing the skin.
Supersonic Hair Dryer by Dyson Now, for the pièce de résistance, Dyson’s drool-worthy Supersonic Hair Dryer! I was surprised to hear that they had so many skeptics when the news of Dyson creating a hair dryer came out. To me, it made so much sense with their incredible air filter and vacuum technology success! Dyson invested over $71MM in research and development, testing it on 1,000+ miles of real hair which even caused a hair shortage in the UK! One of my favorite advances by Dyson was moving the motor from the head of the hair dryer to the handle, rearranging weight distribution, making the dryer lighter and easier to manage. They also made all the attachments magnetic so you won’t have to wrestle with the nozzle to switch to the diffuser – talk about a game changer! Air temperature is constantly monitored 20x a second to ensure it never gets too hot, which will help prevent extreme heat damage and protect your hairs’ natural shine.
Photos by yours truly.
Have you or are you planning to try any of these out?
We’re so excited to kick off this holiday season at Beverly Hills’ annual Rodeo Drive Holiday Lighting Celebrationtomorrow! If you’re in the area, The City of Beverly Hills & The Rodeo Drive Committee are teaming up for a new community initiative, the #RodeoGivesBack coat drive benefitting The Salvation Army. This event is open to the public so stop by to enjoy the festivities and bring a coat you no longer need for the coat drive! Guests will enjoy a Taste of the Holidays Village from the best local food and beverage outlets. There will also be an amazing hour-long show, featuring a performance by Broadway and television star Megan Hilty and you don’t want to miss the spectacular fireworks display at the end, either! I can’t wait – it’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!
If you live in the area but can’t stop by tomorrow, you can also drop off donations at the Spa On Rodeo!
I attended the cutest little preview event at The Beverly Wilshire and brought some of my favorite coats that I don’t get to show a lot of love to, so that they can find a happier home keeping someone warm!
A recent look I wore while we were in Fort Lauderdale the other week. As I’d mentioned on Instagram, Chris had meetings & work to do in Florida so I came along for the ride. That’s one of the things we’re both always grateful for – the fact that we both run our own businesses and work remotely, which enables us to travel together, whenever we each have separate business trips! It’s definitely a blessing 🙂 but did you know, more companies are moving in that direction, too? The ability to work from home or remotely, wherever you are, can actually increase productivity! Of course, it heavily depends on your position and the type of work you do (i.e. if your job can physically be done via technology magic 🙂 ), but it’s definitely worth looking into! I used to mention it occasionally, as that’s our life outside of my Blogger/Social Media world. Let me know if you guys are interested in more info on this subject! I’ve never really blogged about it, but I’ve got a lot to share on that front, lol!
Anyway, since Chris was busy with business, I shot both of these looks with Alyse Siegel Photography and loved how they turned out! Though, it’s much cooler now, back home here in LA, I could probably get away with wearing this same outfit but layered under a duster. How’s the weather where you are?
