The awesome team at 100% Pure sent me some goodies to try out a couple of weeks ago. When I first heard about their line I was excited but slightly sceptical. I use all types of products that claim to be healthier and natural for your skin. Some have been successful and others have failed miserably. After reading more and more about 100% Pure, though, more and more I fell in love. Their entire product line is all, really, 100% pure. Absolutely no artificial fragrances, chemicals, preservatives, artificial colors, or any other unhealthy toxins. You really can read every single ingredient and see that it’s all natural. They’re also vegan and cruelty free! How amazing is that? Guilt free skin care and cosmetics.
One of my main concerns when trying their products out (as with any product I apply to my skin) is whether or not it contains lanolin. For the majority of the population, there’s nothing wrong with this ingredient. Unfortunately for me (and anyone else with an allergy to it), I’m allergic to lanolin. Lanolin is a natural emulsifier and a common ingredient in skin care (especially lotions/moisturizer, lipstick, lip balm and mascara). It’s in so many products that are widely used that I have to be extra careful; for example Carmex, pretty much all Chapstick brand lip balm, Laura Mercier concealer, cocoa butter lotions, many Avon, Neutrogena , L’Oreal, Maybelline and Cover Girl products, even The Body Shop and Nivea lotions… I mean, it’s EVERYWHERE. What happens to me? Oh, you know, I just break out in flaky, itchy, bright red rashes wherever it’s applied. Super fun stuff. Thankfully, I checked all the products 100% Pure sent me and none of them contain lanolin! Woohoo! So if you happen to have this allergy, too, you’re safe with 100% Pure’s products. Of course, double check the ingredients listed for yourself, though.
I took a while to review their products since I wanted to make sure I really like them and that they work well with my skin. Honestly there’s nothing negative I found about any of the products they sent me. They were all great but I especially love their Fruit Pigmented Mascara, Organic Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream, Lip Glazes and Brightening Scrub. They don’t use any artificial fragrances and the fragrances they naturally have are really light like their mascara and lip glazes – both have a very faint scent of berries that is hardly noticeable but pleasant if you do smell it 🙂 . The Body Creams smell like their descriptions and of the two I tried, Honey Almond was my favorite! Yum!
I found that the mascara is ideal for those that like a more natural approach to makeup. It’s great at lengthening and separating lashes. I normally prefer heavy eye makeup and dramatic thick lashes (which is why I usually opt for false lashes) but for days when I’m just heading out to run errands and grab groceries, this mascara is perfect! Their eyeshadow also goes on smoothly and blends well. Here I’m wearing 100% Pure’s Cashmere eyeshadow (it’s a plum color) over Too Faced Shadow Insurance (primer) and along with Urban Decay’s Chopper & Bootycall eyeshadows. I also love their Lip Glaze in Seduce; it’s such a pretty light pink nude. It’s creamy, conditions and is long-lasting. I also appreciate that it doesn’t get all gross, white and clumpy on the outer corners as some lipsticks do throughout the day. By the way, please excuse my shiny forehead up there lol 😛 I’m not wearing any foundation/concealer or powder in the photo. I only filled in my brows, applied light eye shadow, a little eye liner, mascara only on my top/upper lashes and lip glaze.
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and I hope you guys enjoyed my review of 100% Pure! I’m definitely looking forward to trying more of their line especially their face makeup like foundation, tinted moisturizer and concealer (once those are restocked) as well as blush and bronzer. They also carry gel eyeliner that looks super pretty, too!

I’ve seen this brand a lot lately in the blogosphere, good to know that it’s natural and it works well. Like you said I’ve tried a lot of products that were “natural” but didn’t end up doing what they said they would.

Sounds like an amazing product line!
Can’t believe you’re allergic to lanolin! But good for you for being so diligent in keeping on top of what products contain it so you don’t have a reaction.
Love the lip balm- looks amazing on you!

I’ve actually be looking for natural cosmetics. They’re ridiculously difficult to find! So thank you for sharing this because it’ll be on my list to try when I’m finished with my current ones.
