I had the Southern Style Fried Oyster Mushroom & Waffles with sauv blanc, while Chris ordered a bloody mary with the Crispy Mushroom Sandwich. Similar but different, both were amazing! Their batter was seasoned perfectly for that delicious crisp crunchy original kfc-esque taste. I love how well their savory fried mushrooms paired with sweet syrupy waffles and tangy tabasco, but it was also so freaking good with the slaw in their sandwich, too.
We were both so full after, but still wanted to try something else from the menu since these were so good, so we ended up ordering one of their Pepperoni Wood-Fired Detroit-Style Pizzas to-go to enjoy later, and it was amazing! Chris had been searching for a good vegan deep dish pizza place, and Nic’s On Beverly was it! Thick deep slices, with focaccia-like crust that totally hit the spot (and also how I learned the difference between a Detroit-style and Chicago-style pizzas lol!) Anyway, I totally forgot to take a photo of the pizza so we’ll just have to go back and order it again soon 😜 Have you found any awesome new restaurants lately?
I also realized I never properly introduced Dash on here! Diesel’s crazy little brother! 😍🥰 He made a couple little appearances in this and this post but aside from those, I had only shared him joining our family on Instagram and he’s already turning two soon lol so blog readers that don’t follow me on ig, meet our little furry family!
