Kicking off week 3 of our home remodeling project!
If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen my post about our dream kitchen in the works. When we first bought this house last year, we fell in love with the neighborhood and were sold on its curb appeal, location, and size, but knew we wanted to remodel the interior. The first thing we did was have the carpet pulled out and flooring replaced throughout the second floor before we even moved our belongings in, and then we immediately started planning the kitchen update. By August 2021, we had ordered all of the kitchen appliances, but with supply chain delays, those are just now in stock and available to be installed, more than a year later. During that wait, we also had the exterior painted, outdoor lights replaced and landscaping cleaned up. Of course in true Dyer fashion, what started out as planning a kitchen remodel, has evolved into an entire first floor remodel, including dining rooms, living areas, bathrooms and a guest room!
Now that we’re kicking off week 3 of this project, we are almost done with the skim coat process for our fresh new smooth walls. One more coat of plaster and round of sanding, and we’ll be moving on to the next dustiest portion of this project, kitchen demolition! And by we, I mean the construction and design team we hired. Chris and I did our part of packing up and clearing out our belongings from the entire first floor, and are leaving the rest to the professionals. 😉 What? Did you think this hard hat was more than a photo prop? LOL! 😛 I couldn’t help myself, found it on Amazon!
