SO COLD – obviously. You know how you sometimes have to pack for traveling in a really cold area? Yeah. Well, for me, it felt like it was 10x colder than I expected. Don’t get me wrong, I love snowboarding and I’ve traveled to areas that were negative degrees (hello Korea at -11 °F) but it’s a completely different story when packing and dressing for NYFW (btw I’m not Korean, I’m Vietnamese who happened to have had a long layover in Korea in the midst of Winter many years back… now, moving on…). Even after being there, or because I was there, it boggles my mind how many girls were able to rock bare legs and skirts or dresses in such weather. I could not. Let’s be real – shit is COLD YO! I later realized those girls (many friends of mine) were raised in crazy cold areas and were used to it – us SoCal babes, don’t be fooled. I spent a majority of the time trying to hold my composure while my husband was second guessing our travel plans with less than stellar weather forecasts. Luckily for me, I tried my best to blindly plan accordingly. Who wears UGG boots to NYFW?! I do. HELL YES I DID! These boots were my saving grace during this fashion week and I’m so glad I decided, at the very last minute, to bring them along. I’m so thankful that I surrendered to function (sort of) over fashion. Had I not, this post would have never happened. I mean… seriously. I kept it real. If you saw me with bare legs during this fashion week – I’ll tell you right now, I wore THREE LAYERS of ice skating tights. Yep. Not just any tights, I ordered the serious ice skating tights. LIFE SAVERS! I even wore them (at least one pair) underneath my jeans/pants when I didn’t go bared legged. After enduring this trip, I plan to post a packing guide for those of us who are less acclimated to such weather for next FW fashion week 😉 Here, I paired jeans (layered with tights) underneath a super cute Desigual coat. Who could resist a coat covered in hearts?! LOVE! Literally!

I can’t wait to share some of my shots during the Desigual show, itself, coming soon 🙂 after I finish my outfit posts. Are you lucky enough (or not) to live in this kind of weather normally? How to do you bear with it?

LOVE your coat and boots, and kudos to you for dressing appropriately for the weather. I live in NYC, and I can’t believe some of the fashion week outfit photos I’ve seen lately. This is the coldest winter we’ve had in a while. Enjoy your trip, and stay warm!

Love this outfit for the cold! I have been struggling trying to stay stylish and warm in PA since it has been extremely cold and icy over here. But you have seem to have achieved both with this outfit! Kudos!
