Many (maybe most?) of us fashion bloggers are fortunate enough to have our significant others as our photographers. For me, I’ve always asked my husband to take mine and early on when I first started this blog, he did it just to do it because I would ask him to. Over time, and a few camera upgrades later, he’s so much more interested in it, appreciating his work and seeing his own skill grow, enjoying learning new techniques and researching strategies and styles. The men behind the scenes in our fashion blogs really are our unsung heroes – okay, hero sounds way too dramatic 😛 but Chris truly is the back bone of my blog. Without him – HautePinkPretty wouldn’t exist and at the end of the day, he invests so much of his time in this solely because he loves me 🙂 so since I know he’s home in LA and possibly reading this when it posts… Thank you, baby. I know I tell you every day (multiple times a day lol) but I thought I’d take the time because I miss you like crazy while I’m on the other side of the country, to shout it out to the internets 😉 lol! Thank you so very much for supporting me in this amazing fashion blogging journey – for having the patience through it all, with the closet that’s consumed our entire apartment, the ridiculous amounts of photos you take for me, the long nights of various events, the time we spend a part when I travel and the care you put into something that’s much more of my interest than yours. Thank you for looking past the hurdles and always pushing me to do what I love and believing in me. Thank you for taking all of these amazing photos of me (3,352+ published!!) from your perspective and vision for me to share on here.

I’m the luckiest girl in the world and so blessed to have you, my Superman.

Joo and I took a red eye flight in to NYC last night and haven’t had ANY SLEEP! We met up with Sheryl and have a full day today with back to back meetings today before Fashion Week officially starts tomorrow. Talk about running on fumes! The gym I frequent always has it’s air conditioning cranked down to 60° so I tend to wear warmer outfits (saving my shorts for outdoor days or hot yoga!) I like to wear something long sleeved or I’ll bring a light sweatshirt or windbreaker with me. Of course by the end of my workouts, I’m loving the cool A/C but at the beginning, it makes it harder for me to warm up. I love Ryka’s pullover because it’s light, loose and comfortable, keeping me warm when needed but still allowing air flow and movement.

For my last post in this Fitness Fashion series, I wanted to share a couple of my go-to gym workouts 🙂 I always try to do at least 30 mins of cardio 5-6 days a week because it’s super important to keep our hearts healthy! I usually opt for the elliptical because it’s low impact making it easier on knees, ankles and feet. I like to change up the routines a bit by sometimes focusing on my heart rate, running to raise it up to 80% max for 3 minutes, lowering to 25% for 3 minutes etc. or other times I’ll alternate going forward & reverse. My other go-tos are the Seated Leg Press (work those glutes!) and leg lifts to work the core & lower abs. These are just a few of my faves – but I always designate certain days for each area of focus, though many obviously overlap (arms, chest & back and leg days).

This is my ideal Casual Friday outfit for those rare Fridays when I do have to go into the office. Having worked many corporate jobs in the past, I realized that everyone’s idea of “Casual Friday” varies dramatically. There are people who take full advantage of wearing shorts and flip flops, others who still keep it more professional with khakis and pretty blouses and some who turn it into dressing for the night club (like, whoa! 😛 ) I usually always wore something basic but fashionable like this look. It’s simple while still being on trend & stylish but of course fitting within the typical office dress code guidelines, having a professional feel for Casual Friday. 😉 Now of course, I’d totally wear this (and did!) on any normal day in the non-corporate world, running errands or between meetings out and about.
