Disclosure: This post was paid by L’Oréal Paris through their partnership with Refinery29. While I was compensated to write a post about L’Oréal Paris True Match Lumi, all opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting HautePinkPretty.com sponsors as they help make my blog possible!

MAKEUP: L’Oréal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation in W3, True Match Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminator in Golden Doré, Lumi Powder Glow Illuminator in Golden Doré, Colour Riche Eyeshadow in Pain Au Chocolat, & Infallible Pro-Matte Gloss in Statement Nude
OUTFIT: Chicwish Pinky Mood Eyelet Crochet Dress | Patricia Nash Pisticci Bag | My Jewel Bar Diamond Choker Necklace | JustFab Boots

I recently tried L’Oréal’s True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation which is a new liquid foundation in a sponge cushion compact. The shade W3 matched my NC25 skin perfectly and I love how buildable it is! You can simply tap the puff applicator into the sponge for more product to build a light to medium coverage. The formula gives your skin such a beautiful, fresh, natural glow with a gorgeous luminous finish. I love how hydrating and smooth it felt going on! The compact is super portable, too, with a special lid to keep your puff separated from the foundation, making it easy and convenient for on-the-go and touch-ups! It’s formulated with Precise Match™Technology to match your skin’s tone and undertone which gave me a natural, even complexion. I also wore it with their Liquid Glow Illuminator for a natural looking highlight, applying it to the high points of my face like the top of my cheekbones, tip of my nose and cupids bow. I layered the Powder Glow Illuminator over top of some areas for a little extra strobing and used their Colour Riche Eyeshadow on my eyelid to make my eyes pop! I finished off the look with a coat of their Ifallible Pro-Matte Gloss in statement nude – the formula is so amazingly creamy while looking matte!

Have you tried any of L’Oréal’s new True Match Lumi collection?

    Barcelona - Spain Foodie

Restaurante LASARTE – a 2 Michelin Star Gastronomic Experience

    Restaurante Lasarte Barcelona

During our trip to Barcelona, our hotel concierge managed to get us reservations at Lasarte – a two Michelin Star restaurant. We’re fortunate enough to have dined at quite a few 1 and 2 Michelin Star restaurants in the US so we had an idea of what to expect. This isn’t for the faint at heart as highly rated Michelin starred tasting menus are always adventurous, atmosphere typically pretentious and well, the cost is usually quite… prohibitive. Many would find it insane but for a gastrotourist with the means, it is more than just a meal – it truly is an experience! With that being said, Restaurante Lasarte absolutely blew us away. Impeccable attention to detail with perfectly crafted dishes and wine pairings, all I could think about was when we could visit again (or if I could just lease the apartment above and order this as room service on the daily!) Photos cannot to it justice but I hope these will suffice. Towards the end of our experience, we got to meet Chef de cuisine, Paolo Casagrande, but I was a bit too shy to ask for a photo with him 🙂 I suppose that means we’ll just have to return sooner so I can get one next time!

    Amuse-bouches, galore!

I only managed to capture one of the bottles from our wine pairings 😉 but they were all perfectly balanced with the dishes!

“Slightly marinated warm oyster with iced watercress slush, shiso and sea mist.”

“Lobster Royal with red curry, raw artichokes, celery and apple.”

    Restaurant Lasarte Barcelona

“Vegetable leaves and petals salad, herbs, sprouts with lettuce cream and lobster.” One of my personal favorite dishes! Each petal brought a different flavor or aroma and the lobster slices made for an incredible combination of textures.

    Restaurant Lasarte Barcelona

“La Trufa with fermented mushrooms and collard greens with an extra virgin olive oil touch.” Chris’ favorite dish!

    Restaurant Lasarte Barcelona

“Slices of Iberian presa on foie gras curd, marine salad and mustard ice cream.” (This was the only dish I had a difficult time eating but solely because, as an American, most of us are taught to never eat pork raw and I just couldn’t psychologically get past that. In Europe, it’s quite common and very safe. Chris enjoyed it for me, though!)

    Restaurant Lasarte Barcelona

“Red prawn on a seabed and fennel with its coral mayonnaise.” The prawns in Barcelona were to die for and this piece of art was no exception!

Restaurante Lasarte Barcelona - Two Michelin Star

“Low temperature cooked egg with topinambur and herbal liquid salad, thic slices of black truffle and Gebrat d’Obago cheese.”

    Restaurant Lasarte Barcelona

“Grilled wild turbot with seafood sautéed and green curry.”

    Restaurant Lasarte Barcelona

“Lamb shoulder cooked at low temperature, wild mushrooms, agliata sauce and dairy touches.”

    Restaurant Lasarte Barcelona

“Gin-Tonic rested in mint, cucmber, lemon and crunchy apple.” Like a delicious refreshing explosion of flavors and textures!

    Restaurant Lasarte Barcelona

“Cocoa, fermented black garlic, raspberry and moscovado sugar.” Rich in depth and flavor!

Just a few weeks ago, we were in Barcelona, Spain for Valentine’s! One of my favorite places to visit that came highly recommended by my friends Ceci & Sydne, was Park Güell by Antoni Gaudí. The park was huge and the architecture was awe-inspiring. The weather was fairly mild during our entire trip, hovering around the mid 60°F during the day and low 50°F at night so I kept my outfits on the cooler side with layers. We had such a great time exploring the grounds and taking photos along the way!

    Giveaways Hotel New York Travel

NYFW Travel Recap & Luggage Free GIVEAWAY!

An Dyer at Hotel Giraffe NYC wearing Guess faux fur coat

Wearing Marciano Gilmore Puffer Jacket on the balcony of our Hotel Giraffe room

This past Fall/Winter New York Fashion Week was actually unplanned – sort of. Every season, I’m always tempted to head to Europe right after NYFW because it’s so much closer there (about 7 hours from NYC to Europe, which is essentially the same amount of time it takes to fly back to LA, versus a 13+ hour flight from LA to Europe!) but the thought of packing for both was always daunting. I would have to pack outfits that were Fashion Week worthy in addition to what I planned to wear in Europe. This season, we were actually planning to skip fashion week for a trip to Barcelona, Spain, but since our flight would have to connect in New York anyway, we decided to head out a few days early, catch some of my favorite runway shows in New York and then head overseas. We stayed at the beautiful Hotel Giraffe which was conveniently located in the Flat Iron District. I figured the extra days in between were perfect to ease into the time difference and hopefully evade the dreaded transatlantic jet lag. Alas, the same issues remained – how am I going to pack for both trips? With it being Winter on the East Coast, this meant a lot of heavy coats and clothing in addition to the lighter items I’d want to wear in Europe where the weather was much more mild. I knew I had a lot to pack and I also knew I didn’t want to struggle with multiple check-in bags at every airport stop. That’s when Luggage Free came in.

Luggage Free is a premium luggage shipping service that can help you ship your luggage domestically as well as internationally. From the get-go, the process was easy and efficient. They let me know exactly when they would pick up my luggage as well as the timeframe it’s expected to arrive at my destination. My game plan was to send 1 piece of luggage directly to Spain (which would contain most of the items we’ll need there), 1 piece from NYFW back home before heading to Spain (which included heavier items that I needed for NYFW but not in Europe) and then 2 from Spain back home after our trip was over to ease the return trip load. Luggage Free made this so incredibly… easy! Their offerings included a courier service so all I had to do was pack my bag and they came right to our door to pick it up and even easier from the hotel where we just had to leave our luggage with our hotel’s concierge to be picked up. They sent me tracking updates and also emailed me with additional details and updates every step of the way. When we arrived in Spain and checked into our hotel, the bag we had sent was already there waiting for us – zero airport check-in luggage hassle! Leaving Spain was a little different because… well, because I like to shop you guys 😉 so this meant in addition to the luggage we were shipping back, we had 2 new luggages to bring back but it was 2 check-in bags versus the 4 it would have been, which was easy peasy! When we got home to Los Angeles, the bags from New York were already here waiting for us and the luggage from Spain came just a couple days later! I was amazed by how easy this was and baffled that it took me this long to try it! So many nightmares of past trips with miserably heavy luggages being dragged around – my travel game will be forever changed by Luggage Free! I don’t think I could ever travel for long durations without using their services again!

The awesome team at Luggage Free wanted to offer my readers an amazing GIVEAWAY, too! So, without further ado, enter to win free service for 1 bag on an upcoming trip! This giveaway is open internationally and ends 2 weeks from now on Thursday, March 17th at 11:59PM PST. Winner will be announced here on this widget. Good luck!
