Zoom Teeth Whitening with Dr. Kevin B. Sands, DDS

If you’re friends with me on Instagram or SnapChat, you may have followed along as Chris and I recently visited Beverly Hills based celebrity dentist, Dr. Kevin B Sands, to have our teeth professionally whitened. He’s treated the Hollywood elites like Robert Downey Jr, Britney Spears, Halle Berry, Justin Bieber, Iggy Azalea, Blake Griffin, Miley Cyrus, Eva Longoria, Kanye & the Kardashian/Jenners & so many more! Needless to say, we were honored to be invited there. His office is beautiful – centrally located in the heart of Beverly Hills, bright and tastefully decorated with stunning views of the city.

Many of you know that I regularly whiten my teeth with at home whitening kits and although I love using those methods, I wanted to try an in-office treatment because I heard it was so much faster and more effective. Boy were they right! 45 minutes in & out of the office seemed like the equivalent to my religiously using at-home whitening strips daily for two weeks! They also have massage therapists there on site so I enjoyed a nice hand & arm massage while getting my teeth whitened definitely a nice perk! I noticed a difference immediately (before & after photo below!) and I think my teeth even became whiter the next few days after. I only experience slight sensitivity the day of, my lower teeth became a bit achy as the day went on, but that was completely gone when I woke up the next morning. You’re not supposed to eat or drink anything with color like coffee, spinach or tomato sauce (basically if it will stain a white t-shirt, don’t eat it!) for 48 hours afterwards but I’ve been extra careful ever since, taking care to brush my teeth again every time I have coffee or red wine. It’s been almost a month and my pearly whites are still bright!

Barcelona - Spain Hotel Luxury

Hotel Majestic

We stayed at the beautiful Majestic Hotel & Spa during our recent trip to Barcelona, Spain – one of the cities first luxury hotels boasting past famous regular guests like Ernest Hemingway, Pablo Picasso as well as the Queen of Spain. From the minute I booked the hotel through to our return home, their service was top notch. Since flights to Europe usually arrive early in the morning, I would typically try to book our hotel the night before so that it’s ready right when we land but they weren’t available when I was originally reserving our stay. Since I knew we would be exhausted from the lengthy flight, I coordinated with Hotel Majestic’s concierge to have a car service pick us up at the airport and I worked with their spa to reserve 90 minute couples massages when we arrived. Although I was concerned with our language barrier (I never learned Spanish!), the hotel’s concierge was extremely helpful by email and had no issues understanding what we needed. Our room had a beautiful view of Paseo de Gracia and Antoni Gaudi’s Casa Batlló and the hotel itself happens to be located in the heart of the luxury shopping area and houses Barcelona’s Chanel boutique. A shopaholic’s dream! Needless to say, I thoroughly enjoyed our stay from start to finish and can’t wait to return!

I recently tried L’Oréal’s True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation which is a new liquid foundation in a sponge cushion compact. The shade W3 matched my NC25 skin perfectly and I love how buildable it is! You can simply tap the puff applicator into the sponge for more product to build a light to medium coverage. The formula gives your skin such a beautiful, fresh, natural glow with a gorgeous luminous finish. I love how hydrating and smooth it felt going on! Barcelona - Spain Foodie

Restaurante LASARTE – a 2 Michelin Star Gastronomic Experience

During our trip to Barcelona, our hotel concierge managed to get us reservations at Lasarte – a two Michelin Star restaurant. We’re fortunate enough to have dined at quite a few 1 and 2 Michelin Star restaurants in the US so we had an idea of what to expect. This isn’t for the faint at heart as highly rated Michelin starred tasting menus are always adventurous, atmosphere typically pretentious and well, the cost is usually quite… prohibitive. Many would find it insane but for a gastrotourist with the means, it is more than just a meal – it truly is an experience! With that being said, Restaurante Lasarte absolutely blew us away. Impeccable attention to detail with perfectly crafted dishes and wine pairings, all I could think about was when we could visit again (or if I could just lease the apartment above and order this as room service on the daily!) Photos cannot to it justice but I hope these will suffice. Towards the end of our experience, we got to meet Chef de cuisine, Paolo Casagrande, but I was a bit too shy to ask for a photo with him I suppose that means we’ll just have to return sooner so I can get one next time!

I only managed to capture one of the bottles from our wine pairings but they were all perfectly balanced with the dishes!

“Slightly marinated warm oyster with iced watercress slush, shiso and sea mist.”

“Lobster Royal with red curry, raw artichokes, celery and apple.”

“Vegetable leaves and petals salad, herbs, sprouts with lettuce cream and lobster.” One of my personal favorite dishes! Each petal brought a different flavor or aroma and the lobster slices made for an incredible combination of textures.

“La Trufa with fermented mushrooms and collard greens with an extra virgin olive oil touch.” Chris’ favorite dish!

“Slices of Iberian presa on foie gras curd, marine salad and mustard ice cream.” (This was the only dish I had a difficult time eating but solely because, as an American, most of us are taught to never eat pork raw and I just couldn’t psychologically get past that. In Europe, it’s quite common and very safe. Chris enjoyed it for me, though!)
