Holiday Shopping at Simon Premium Outlets

Happy Monday, everyone! I’ve partnered up with Simon Premium Outlets for some early holiday shopping. I recently visited Camarillo Premium Outlets, not too far from me here in LA. It was my first time there and WOW was I blown away! This shopping center is HUGE – just when I thought I saw it all, I realized I’d barely covered 1 section out of 3 big plazas, talk about shopping heaven! Follow along below to see the awesome finds I scored:

Holiday Style – my first stop was Ted Baker where I found this stunning holiday dress at a fraction of the original cost! If you’ve been a longtime reader, you probably already know that cobalt blue is one of my favorite colors to wear. It’s such an eye-catching, vibrant shade that works well year-round but looks especially incredible standing out at a holiday party among the typical scarlet reds & LBDs. I also got a great deal on their upgraded polos for my husband. Ted Baker polos are Chris’s favorites with their unique details & mixed fabrics and textures. I was shocked to find such an awesome variety of them available & marked down! They look great on their own or worn with a suit or blazer, making them ideal for the holidays. I also found the perfect accessories like this gorgeous blue & green J.Crew necklace that pairs perfectly with my dress! The Kate Spade store was in high demand, but I really didn’t mind the short wait to enter because I stumbled upon these pretty emerald green earrings that add a complementing touch of color worn with the necklace & dress. I also picked up this handsome classic flask for Chris at Neiman Marcus Last Call in case the holiday party eggnog or apple cider needed an extra boost 😉 the luxurious croc embossed leather works perfectly for him to slip in his coat pocket.

For the Athlete – There certainly wasn’t a shortage of fitness/athletic outlet shops like the Taylormade Adidas Factory Store! My husband and his friends are all avid golfers so I was so excited to find amazing steal deals at Camarillo Premium Outlets. Chris is a pretty tall guy so looking for his size, especially in shoes, is usually daunting but the wide variety here was amazing! I found these Adidas Tour 360 golf shoes in his size from the current season for half the price! I picked up a matching hat and two coordinating jackets which all added up to nearly less than the original price of the shoes alone! Is this real life?!

The Family Chef – There were plenty of housewares and home furnishing stores to visit like Corningware Corelle & More, making it super easy to DIY a hostess gift basket or pick up the perfect stocking stuffers for your family chef. I can personally spend all day in there, filling my basket with cool kitchen gadgets and tools like these cute little whisks for my Christmas morning latte! Don’t forget to grab a digital thermometer so you don’t overcook that roast or the brush set to make the post-holiday cleanup a little easier! 😉

His & Hers – The Nike store was by far the most popular and rightfully so because it was ENORMOUS! I couldn’t believe how many different styles of the illusive Nike Frees & Fly Knits were available and in practically every size imaginable! Of course I grabbed myself a pair in pink and purple because, well duh 😉 who would I be without buying something pink?! I also got my husband a pair because new fitness gear is the best motivator to stick to that upcoming New Year’s resolution and I don’t want to go at it alone. Plus, I’ve never seen anyone not ecstatic about opening a gift box with a killer pair of Nike kicks inside!

I’m not gonna lie, I was a little hesitant shopping early because Black Friday is right around the corner and nothing beats the ridiculously good deals you’ll find at Simon Premium Outlets. Outlet prices PLUS Black Friday promotions?! Don’t worry though, I’ll be back 😉 lol!

Casual - Everyday Style What To Wear

    Akasha

I’ve been jumping on every chance I can get to wear sweaters lately since it’s rare for LA to stay cool enough to rock them throughout the day (like today for example, it’s 77°F!) I love a good chunky knit sweater like this one by Joe’s – it’s comfortable and chunky, perfect for Fall, but the knit is still open enough to stay cool if need be. I went for an edgier vibe with my half pompadour and vampy dark lipstick by Kat Von D so to soften the look up just a touch, adding my signature girly twist, I went with these custom made bow pumps by Shoes of Prey that I designed myself. Then I added some bling with my new Kendra Scott jewelry and broke up the solids with this dalmatian print tote to add some life to the look!

Are you enjoying sweater weather, too?

    n/naka

It’s been a while since I published a foodie post so I knew I had to share our incredible dinner at the critically acclaimed, Japanese kaiseki restaurant, n/naka. Chris and I first learned of n/naka from the Netflix original series, Chef’s Table, which I highly recommend if you’re a foodie and haven’t seen it yet! Every episode profiles a single world-renowned chef and each time we watch it, I find myself scouring the internets for airline prices and flights around the world hoping to find a steal deal to one of the exotic locales. When we immersed ourselves in the 4th episode, I was elated to see that Chef Niki Nakayama’s exceptional restaurant was right here in our own backyard! Okay, not really that close but right here in LA, barely 20 miles away or in Angeleno terms, an hour or so away in traffic 😉 . We weren’t even halfway through the episode when I was aimlessly searching OpenTable for reservations only to be met with NONE available. Not just for the upcoming weeks but completely booked solid for 3 months. I started to become desperate, using my google master jedi skills to try to find a way in while also emailing my fellow foodie contacts to see if we had any connects. No dice. Luckily a foodie obsessed email to them directly got me a reservation for just over 3 months out 😀 fine by me! With all that hype, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous. Obviously not nervous about eating there but more concerned that they wouldn’t live up to all that hype. Well, let me tell you, it was everything we’d imagined and more! We decided to go with the Modern Kaiseki menu along with the optional wine pairings to really enjoy the full experience which is priced at $185 per person plus $85 per person for the optional wine pairing.  Now, I know it seems like an exorbitant amount of money for dinner (and I know for most people it is) but if you watch the episode, you’ll see exactly why it was worth every penny. This isn’t just a dinner, this is an incredible culinary experience – a truly mind blowing artistic adventure. 13 painstakingly hand crafted courses with 13 perfectly curated wine pairings, this is NOT your every day supper. We were so engrossed in our gastronomic escapade that I didn’t catch the names of each dish and since their tasting menu changes almost daily, I wasn’t able to find them all online but I hope you’ll enjoy the photos I took anyway 🙂 and if you’re ever in LA and searching for a special occasion dining experience, I highly highly highly recommend trying to get a reservation at n/naka!
