I mentioned having DIY plans for the blouse I recently bought in this post but I actually had slightly different ideas for it. I originally wanted to use these spikes but quickly realized they were too heavy and ran the risk of making everything sag (saggy collar, saggy pocket, saggy shoulder – no thanks). I debated whether or not to do anything to it but I felt like it needed a little oomph. I took a shot in the dark with these gold cone studs that StudsAndSpikes.com sent me instead and really love how it turned out! I won’t bore you with the details because all I really did was shove the prongs through the fabric lol but I did opt to apply them where this sheer fabric was layered. If I pushed them through the areas with just the single layer of fabric, it probably would have torn or frayed. Also, I decided to stud the pocket closed (it’s not like I’d actually use the pocket for anything anyway) to avoid a saggy pocket. I absolutely love the fun hardware details it added to this blouse!

Dany – AGAIN! I know 🙂 I can’t help it. I love her…and just to pre-warn you all, I’ve yet to post and outfit wearing them in “Brown Pete’s Shirt” so don’t think I’m done posting these shoes yet! They’re just the perfect, surprisingly comfortable, super cute t-strap platforms.

Zara Floral Print Shirt + BCBGeneration Lee Flatforms + Glint & Gleam Studded Bracelets

I finally got around to posting an outfit with these BCBGeneration Lee Flatforms that I posted about back in March. It wasn’t that I don’t wear them, but they’re my go to shoes for scrubby days when I want the height but comfortableness of flats, think boring tshirt, shorts and these babies. They’re perfect at elevating an ultra casual look but still blending in and not clashing with it. Well, this was one of those days, running errands around Old Town Pasadena but I happened to be wearing one of my favorite floral blouses (worn here) so I figured, why not blog it?

The Jomsy Ankle Bracelet

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of meeting with Parisian designer Sylvie de Gil. We met at her company, Jomsy Consulting, and I had the wonderful opportunity of viewing their showroom, seeing sneak peeks of her beautiful leather handbag designs, silk scarves and her gorgeous ankle bracelets. Sylvie was such a joy to chat with; she’s incredibly talented, upbeat and passionate about her craft. Sylvie being French and me, Vietnamese, we had more to talk about than we expected. The Vietnamese culture is largely influenced by the French and everything from our language and cuisine to clothing and style reflects it. Sylvie told me how much she enjoys visiting the Little Saigon area in Orange County for their delicious Vietnamese restaurants and I was elated. Aside from beautiful clothes and gorgeous shoes, the key to my heart really is food 😉 It’s always so nice to meet people from other backgrounds only to find so much in common! I was so impressed by Sylvie’s knowledge of the industry from start to finish. Her pieces are all hand cut, made locally here in Los Angeles, CA and are perfect reflections of her love for her designs and passion for the fashion industry. In addition to designing, Sylvie’s company also works with many up and coming designers and offers private label services. You can read more about Sylvie on the Jomsy website here.

Before we left, she was kind enough to gift me with an ankle bracelet of my choice. They come is such a wide range of beautiful colors, textures and leathers that it was difficult to decide. After much debate, I decided to take home the gorgeous neon yellow ankle bracelet that matched my shoes perfectly. Special thanks to Sylvie for being so gracious and welcoming us into her showroom!

I absolutely adore this Gentle Whispers dress that SugarLips Apparel sent me last week. The delicate lace trim is so gorgeous and adds a beautiful detail to the dress, matching the name perfectly. I bought this jeweled headpiece months ago and had it still in the bag with tags attached. I almost forgot I even had it until I was rummaging through my jewelry drawer looking for accessories to wear and happened to notice it sitting on top of my dresser. I felt it would be the perfect piece to wear with the dress to emphasize a more hippie chic look. A few fun bracelets for my arm swag, my Parker watch and reliable pair of Dany’s finished off the outfit. Comfortable and super cute outfit = win!

Well, I got to go home with these Native’s, the Howard shoe in jiffy black, and have worn them regularly on my casual days ever since; especially for any situation that requires lots of walking.
