    Grey Nail Polish

While checking out at Forever 21, I saw this nail polish at the counter. I normally skip over cheapy polishes – the last thing I want is yellow toe nails and chipped polish, but the flat grey caught my eye. I love grey – I love wearing it, dressing my  husband in it, accessorizing with it… it was even one of our main wedding colors! 😛 I figured I’d give this $2.80 nail polish a shot. I applied it with my OPI nail polish base and top coat to ensure long-lasting chip free color and no yellow nails. It worked like a charm! These shots are from almost two weeks ago and today, my polish is still in tact and looking great. It will definitely be added to my stash of favorite nail polishes (alongside my beloved nude shades).

    What To Wear

    Jessica Simpson Dany

I’d been coveting these Jessica Simpson Dany’s since I saw them on the likes of Rumi Neely, Jennine Jacob and Fashion Snag last year. Why didn’t I buy them? I have no clue. They’re not overly expensive… I do recall them being sold out everywhere early Spring 2010… maybe I just gave up searching and instead, just drooled over them for more than a year? I must have been out of my mind. Anyway, I recently saw them available at Zappos and Macy’s along with a few other retailers so my loving husband ordered them for me 😀 I got them in this grey and a plum purple velvet (that I’ve yet to wear). I especially love how sky-high they are… see, my husband is a foot taller than me. One whole foot – a full twelve inches! Wearing these babies barely brings me to his cheek lol but it makes it nice not to have to strain my neck and tippy toe to give him a kiss 😉

Navy Poncho – yes, another one.

Maybe, I’m the only one that notices or maybe I really do have a [slight] shopping problem. I’ve mentioned it before but I have this habit of buying whatever item I like in every color it comes in. On the surface, it doesn’t sound so bad, right? But I do this with everything- jeans, tops, outerwear, skirts, shoes, bags, accessories… and maybe, it gets a little repetative. Case in point, this poncho. I bought it in grey, creme and navy.  Another example? My Steve Madden Raven boots; I bought them in both the taupe and black patent leather. In fact, they also came in glittery versions and I would have bought those too if they had them in my size. If I don’t buy it in every color it comes in, I’ll kick myself later for not. Those Seychelle wedges I’m wearing here? They also came in black and cranberry and I still think about them and wonder why I didn’t buy those colors too. They’re comfy and perfect for work or out to brunch but unfortunately, they’re no longer available (as far as I know). Even more frustrating is when an item I like is available in similar shades, say charcoal, black and navy. I’ll end up at the store for as long as I can debating on which color to buy and whether or not to buy them all. Sure, I’ll know they’re different but if I were to wear them three days in a row (which I’d never but just hypothetically of course) others would think I was wearing the same thing since the colors are close.

So what do you think? Is it an issue I need to address or just a personality quirk?

    Shopping

Giuseppe Zanotti – now THIS is Mardi Gras!

My fingers are practically trembling as I type this. Giuseppe Zanotti at over 50%+ off on RueLaLa.com (no, I’m not being sponsored or paid to post this, I’m really just THAT excited!)… but I’ve been buying too many shoes lately so I might have to practice some self-restraint. But then again, today is Mardi Gras, right? Does indulging in shoe shopping count? What if I gave up shopping for shoes for Lent? Who am I kidding. That’s not going to happen (don’t get me wrong, I’ll definitely give up something difficult but shoes is not going to be it – I did that last year ;))

Just kidding. I have no explanation for this other than lagging and posting it three weeks after the fact. I should also mention, this is a repeat outfit that never made it to my blog because the pictures didn’t come out as expected. I wore this same dress to a friend’s wedding last year… at least I’m recycling, right? ;p

Ruth's Chris Steak House Rib Eye Creamed Spinach Asparagus and Potatoes Lyonnaise

My husband surprised me with reservations to my favorite San Diego restaurant, Ruth’s Chris Steak House, for Valentine’s Day last month. I know it’s not only in San Diego but it’s my all time favorite here 🙂 aside from having amazing food and ambiance, it also brings back childhood memories of dining with my family here. My Dad is a red meat-eating man (he likes them rare!) so I grew up enjoying many of San Diego’s best steak houses and of them all, Ruth’s Chris is still hands down my favorite local restaurant.
