My Mom got me this skirt for Christmas and I am so in love with it! I’ve had a (faux) leather pleated skirt on my list of things my closet needs despite its lack of space for months now and somehow, my Mommy dearest magically read my mind. Unintentional telepathy? I don’t think I ever even mentioned it to her! The color is so gorgeous in person and somehow (almost) goes with everything in my closet. Leather automatically feels sexy but the pretty pleats and school girl shape calms it down perfectly. I love that it brings out the colors in my clutch (also worn here and seen here) without obviously matching it.

I’m guilty of the buying-things-sticking-them-into-my-closet-and-taking-forever-to-actually-wear-them syndrom. I mean, I do wear some of the things I buy right away, but usually, I shop and buy like 8 items and then I might wear 1 of those items right away & post it, while the rest sits in my closet and likely goes on sale before I get a chance to wear them. Case in point, the shoes here, I bought for full price (fail) they went on sale recently and are long gone now. Yep, still haven’t worn them. Why? Well, for one thing, I work out of my home office. This means, I wear nothing exciting (ie old stretched out tank tops) around the house most days. Classy, huh? Then there’s the issue with, if we don’t have time to take blog pictures wherever we’re going, I want to “save” the new goodies for when we do have time. It’s a serious issue 😛 So, I’m going to start sharing my shopping hauls with you all 🙂 This way, if there’s anything you like, you can still snatch them up before they’re long gone when I finally post an oufit in them and then you ask me where to get it and then I fail as a blogger 😉

Please excuse the terrible grammar and overwhelming amounts of run on sentences in this post. Though, if you’re a regular reader, this is nothing new!

Oh and yeah, I realized while making this that I bought way too many necklaces and sheer blouses the past two weeks.

Caviar – love at first bite. The first time I had the chance to try caviar was during our trip to NYC. My cousin, Theresa, purchased an ounce of White Sturgeon Caviar, from Dean & Deluca’s. She was gracious enough to let us try some and that was when I fell in love. Okay, a bit over dramatic. I didn’t even really think I liked it all that much. I mean, it was tasty but eh, what’s the big deal, I thought. Well, ever since that taste, I’ve had it on my mind. This constant curiosity and craving for the buttery, salty, briny, little beads of goodness. I just couldn’t contain it anymore and started searching, yelping, googling the hell out of caviar. After going through a rollercoaster of emotions – oohing and ahhing at the varieties on sites like Tsar Nicoulai and Caviar Express … then gagging at the thought of Ikea “caviar” (which isn’t caviar, it’s fish roe)… then back to oohing and ahhing on GiltTaste.com. I found Petrossian’s.

Talk about a game changer – I discovered they have a boutique and restaurant right here in Los Angeles. I immediately booked reservations and the rest is history. Well, history documented in the following photos ;). It was every bit as delicious as I remembered and I must say, this might be my new favorite LA restaurant. Aside from being able to order ridiculous amounts and varieties of the best caviar available in the states and enjoy them the appropriate accoutrements, their signature dishes are covered with generous amounts of Transmontanus (White Sturgeon) Caviar, too. There are indeed dishes without any caviar (last image below) as well, but we only ordered those to offset the insane amount we consumed.

I should also mention, I loved it so much, we came back the following week for their Caviar 101 course/tasting. Amazing. (The images below are only from our first visit, the second time we went, I was too preoccupied tasting to take any decent photos…)
