This was the third look I changed into on the very first day of NYFW! We had a tight schedule with Tadashi & Desigual back to back but luckily, they were both at the Skylight so logistics weren’t too complicated. Finding a place to change though? Now that was trickier than we anticipated! Sydne and I ended up changing backstage at Tadashi and I think the funny clips of it might make it into one of Sydne’s youtube videos this weekend! I’ll make sure to link it here so you guys can watch the hilarity ensue! After the show, we met up with our friend Grasie Mercedes on our way to a showroom visit – we were all staying at the same hotel so it definitely made for fun cab & uber rides!

New York Fashion Week Day 2: The High Pony

Brace yourself for the abundance of photos in this post 😉 we had a lot of fun shooting this look between shows on NYFW Day 2. I really tried to edit down the number of images I was selecting but then I decided, effit, I like too many of them from this set. Is that vain? Probably, but isn’t this entire personal style blogging thing vain? I digress. I wasn’t planning on wearing my hair up but the combination of NYC’s heat, humidity and well, let’s be honest here, lack of time to wash my hair, resulted in my franticly trying to style it 5 minutes before leaving and subsequently giving up. High pony tail it was. Luckily for me, the first show we went to was Kate Spade and every single model had her hair up in a high pony! Serendipity!

Day 2 was probably one of the busiest between that aforementioned Kate Spade presentation, Zimmerman’s SS16 show & Betsey Johnson’s 50th Anniversary show – so busy that I completely spaced out and missed THREE meetings I had scheduled in the midst of this insanity. C’est la vie! Thankfully, the people I was to meet with were understanding enough. I chalk it up to fashion week brain. It’s a thing, I swear.

As I mentioned in my last post, I ended up changing three times for the first day of NYFW so I’m excited to share my second look for the day with you guys! This is the gorgeous dress I wore by Tadashi Shoji for their SS16 show. Sydne and I happen to have very similar taste and thought it would be so cute to wear the same dress in two different colors 🙂 which made for the prettiest photo opp! New York Fashion Week Day 1: A Pop of Malbec

You guys know by now that I’m all about mixing highs and lows and this very first outfit I wore for Day 1 of NYFW was exactly that! From my Tom Ford Sunglasses to my Guess boots, to my gorgeous Hammitt fringe bag to my… Forever 21 dress. Yes, I wore Forever 21 to New York Fashion Week. Who does that? I did it. I did it guys! I’m obsessed with the high neckline, gothic victorian trends this Fall and loved the feel and fit of this dress – regardless of where it was from. I paired it with my gorgeous new statement bag to really let that malbec wine color pop. Day 1 happened to be the heaviest rainy day of the week so over the knee boots were perfectly appropriate and functional.

Now, I mentioned that this was my very first outfit of the day because, despite my plans of only wearing one outfit a day for my own sanity, my friend Sydne Summer somehow convinced me to change outfits throughout the day between each show we attended. I went from a sane 1 outfit a day to changing THREE times!! This is what I wore to BCBGMaxazria in the morning but I can’t wait to show you all the other two looks of the day! Happy Labor Day, everyone! I absolutely love this glamorous one piece from UK based brand, Forever Unique! It’s so incredibly luxe and classy with just the right amount of sex appeal. I wore it under my favorite pair of True Religion white shorts and paired the look with my new Klub Nico wedges for an elegant touch that ties in the swimsuit’s crystal embellishments. I layered two dainty necklaces with my outfit to balance out my statement cuff and to keep my hands free (to carry my poolside mojitos, obviously!) I traded in my usual purses and wore my Louis Vuitton fanny pack belt bag instead. I polished off the look with my go-to pair of Vint & York sunglasses that tie in the brown & gold tones of my ensemble. Perfect for a Labor Day pool party!
